Jay's Collection
Carvin BBS ID: Cool Jay

Here's another great collection from a regular on the Carvin BBS, consisting of a pair of bolt-neck models, and a custom-made neck-thru model that Jay made himself.

Above and to the right is Jay's Contour 66.  It's finished in translucent Emerald Green on quilted maple with matching reverse inline headstock.  The body is swamp ash, and the neck is maple.  Other features include mother-of-pearl block inlays on an ebony fingerboard with jumbo frets, chrome Sperzel locking tuners and FT6 bridge, and C22B & C22T pickups.

This is Jay's Bolt C, which has a highly figured swamp ash body finished in translucent Sapphire Blue.  It has a maple neck with jumbo-fretted maple fingerboard, and a trans Sapphire Blue V headstock with drop-shadow logo.  The Floyd Rose tremolo with locking nut and other hardware is chrome, and electronics consist of a pair of C22B humbuckers with an AP11 in the center position.

Here is Jay's NT7 project guitar, built with a maple Carvin neck with ebony fingerboard and and swamp ash body sides (which was cut from a swamp ash body blank, also from Carvin).  Jay has a detailed diary with photos of the construction process, right here.
